GOT ANY DIRTY LAUNDRY?

laundry Pictures, Images and Photos

All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.Isaiah 64:6

Have you ever felt that no matter how hard you tried, it just wasn't good enough?

All the work that you do just became like filthy rags?

Have you ever felt like a shriveled up leaf from exhaustion because you have been trying to 'keep it all together'?

Overcome with the temptation of sin that nips at the door of your heart?

There was a time in my life that not only did I have dirty laundry, it was 'aired' for all to see.

Just walk into my house and look up the stairs and not only would see the above picture staring at your face, but clothes spilling unto the floor half way down the hallway.

No matter how hard I tried, no matter how hard I worked, I just couldn't keep up.

So I just stopped caring.

My attitude became: when it gets done it gets done. Why bother stressing about it?

Ya, sure!

Like the stress goes away.

Like not dealing with it will make it go away?

It just keeps growing bigger and bigger.

For me, and I'm just talking about myself here. Laziness and procrastination is a sin. I sin when I am walking in laziness and procrastination.

So I had to confess. I had to ask forgiveness. I had to cry out to be set free from these bondage's that I have allowed to dig deep within my spirit and take root!

Today I am a different woman than when I had my dirty laundry aired for all the world to see.

Today I try to do two loads of laundry every day. One white. One dark.

If there is more, than more will be done. If there isn't any, I will just gather what dirty laundry I have, separate them and keep them in baskets until they are filled and ready for wash.Which is usually the next day.

When I am folding laundry, I usually have music playing. Also when I fold the laundry, I tell ya the truth here..I will hold the clothes close to my nose and inhale deeply! Yes I do.I than pray that my family and I will be a sweet fragrance to our Father's nostrils.

I praise God for allowing me to provide clean clothes for my family, for providing clothes for my family, and for lovingly doing laundry.

Yes, lovingly!

There was a time I cursed for the most part as I did laundry.

Oh, the never ending job.

For crying out loud does it ever stop.

I hate laundry. I hate doing this. I hate I hate I hate..

bla bla bla.

Don't even get me going on ironing!

Just do it! That has become my little mantra I guess you would say.

This is what I hear the Holy Spirit speak to my heart each and every day lately when I start to become filled with panic and stress because I haven't done my chores for the day.

Just do it Angela. Just do it.

Push on and start doing it and guess what?

It gets done. With a happy heart!

Once I start, once I get off my behind and just do it, oh my goodness the peace of God that transcends upon my spirit.

Obedience brings peace.

Got any dirty laundry?

Just do it.....

Thy kingdom come Father God on earth as it is in heaven.
amen amen amen

Great post Angie.
I truly believe your thoughts on how our house is a direct link to our insides as well. If the home is falling apart, something inside of us is falling apart as well.

Off to do laundry..*grumble,grumble*

It is so true that the thought of doing work is much more unpleasant than the actual work itself. Once you get started it is not so bad!!! Nike must have stolen that phrase from the Holy Spirit! Just do it!!! :)

I absolutely love doing laundry! Part of it is just having a system down. I keep a big hamper in the bathroom and when it gets full I cart it down to the basement and there are usually about 2 loads out of it. Just like anything in life, if you just keep up on it then it doesn't get out of control.
