I wanted to share some things with you.
So if you do, pull up a chair.
Wait, if your here, than that means your already sitting aren't you?
lol

Well grab yourself a coffee, tea or whatever you like.
I'll wait.
I got my coffee beside me already.

I've shared with you at WHY FASTING WORKS I was going to share some scriptures with you.

Well I have found quite a bit of scriptures on fasting while I've been sitting at the computer.
I will share two with you today.

But a time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and on that day they will fast. Mark 2:20...also in Luke 5:35
....on that day they will fast.
I shared in the post that I have the link here about Jesus saying when you fast... and now in these two scriptures it states they WILL fast.

When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matthew 6:16-18
I thought the above picture was cute.
Happy fasting.
Perfect for this scripture above where it states to not look somber.

One thing I have learned about fasting and prayer is TRUST.
Trusting in the One that has set me free from the addiction to food.
I have also learned that this life style, this way of living doesn't make many want to get up on that 'high wire'.
Believers and non believers.

Who in their 'right mind' would want to fast?
Sure those that have to fast because they were told by their Doctor's they had to for tests.
How many of us have grumbled over that one?
I have.
"Cripe, how am I going to make it not being able to eat or drink anything after 12 a.m.?"
"The clinic better be open early in the morning and BETTER not have a long line by the time I get there."
Ya, I've said that before,lol.

Who in their 'right mind' would think that fasting can change your life?
Seriously!
I never did.
But it has.
It has not only helped me to lose over 110 lbs, but it has transformed me mentally, spiritually, emotionally and physically.

Whenever I look at my wedding bands, this scripture comes to my mind.
A crown of splendor in God's right hand.
It is so difficult for me to share what God has done in my life since I've been fasting and praying these last three years.
AND not only in my life, but my family's.
It has spilled out towards my family too.
Touching them in ways that I NEVER thought possible.
I always share with others who approach me about this life style.
pray pray pray pray...
Pray FIRST....

Seriously.
Don't get on the bandwagon of fasting UNTIL you seriously pray first.

I truly believe if you are going to fast and pray to lose weight, YOU WON'T.
If it is only to lose weight it won't work.

This life style is a primitive road that seems to have no warning signs.
There are signs though.
All in God's Word.
Throughout history the Saints before us knew the power of fasting and prayer.
I hope that some of what I have written here has made you think.
Question.
Desire to dig deeper to finding out more.
blessings.....

Hey sweetie!
Well, I'm joing the IF bandwagon! I plan on starting this weekend. I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer to:
Can you alter your break fast time? Can I start at 4:00 or 4:30 and end 4 hours after that? I would assume so but am just checking.
I'm also taking your advice and seeking God on this journey.
Also, I still have not made it to the Post Office yet! I'll be there on Saturday!
Wish me luck and I'll be praying for you too!
Hey beautiful sister Donna..girl you can have your 'break fast' any time you chose. There are days I break my fast at 2 instead of the usual 5:30. If my parents invite me out for lunch I want to enjoy not only the fellowship but the good food with them. Your just too sweet to think of me and sending me something in the mail. I will be honest, I'm excited,LOL. I actually keep every card anyone sends me! I love to re read them when I'm feeling down and blue...I'm praising God for His leading you to IF...you know I'm only an email away. You can always email me to say you need to talk on the phone and I will call...
Smooches!!!
