HOMEWARD BOUND

I made it.

Homeward Bound!

Chores completed.

Don't even ask how long it took me to clean this.

Don't even ask how many times I was ready to give up.

Let's just say by the time my fingers were numb from scrubbing, I stopped.

This is as close to 'clean' as I got it.

I remember talking to my mother one time about cleaning stove tops and ovens.

"I got better things to do than spend hours scrubbing" is what I told my mother.

"I must have been a very frustrated homemaker and took it out on my stove" my mother said to me.

We were talking about the time when I was a small child and watching her clean the oven and stove top. Scrubbing and scrubbing for hours.

Those times were NOT happy times in our household.

Lots of pain for everyone.

You know what just came to me as I typed this out?

That those memories are still locked inside of me and this could be one of the reasons I struggle with cleaning the stove.

hmmmmmm.....

I have clean walls. Nothing 'growing' on them anymore.

While I was cleaning away, I came up with another vignette.

I moved my enamel pots that I had on a shelf. 50 cents for both of these beauties at a yard sale.

Got me some hooks and put them up by the window.

I LOVE it!

Changed the little apple desk I had by the coffee machine and moved it back to the sink.

I like the look there better.

For now~

lol

As I was just about ready to clean under the sink, I'll be honest with you.

I didn't think it would come out that clean.

Our cupboards are literally falling apart.

Under the sink has so much water damage that the bottom of it is holding up by angel wings!

So I was quite surprised to see that what I thought would not come clean did!

Go figure?

Wiping down dirt does come off.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...lol

Organized!

This little bin here is called Organic Bin.

Given to us by the City we live in.

To throw out all our scraps of food, eggs, coffee grounds, etc.

On garbage day, we throw it out to the curb and the City recycles it for the community.

What some people do when they place into composts.

Which I no longer have.

Thinking of getting me another one again though.

Especially since Randan my 20 year old is going to start me a garden this year.

To purchase these Organic Bins, they cost 6 dollars through the City, and double that at WalMart.

I was able to purchase another one (for the daycare) for one dollar at a yard sale.

So my kitchen is done.

Someone called me while I was cleaning the kitchen.

Family

"What are you doing?"

"Cleaning my kitchen. I took pictures of my filthy kitchen to put on my blog, and now I have to clean it."

"Seems like this is what motivates me to clean my house."

Fresh Oil Today! had an amazing post up and I want to share a few things that really spoke to my heart:

"God is using our bloggy words in such powerful ways that I can scarce take it all in!!

Who knows, the words you posted today may be just the rightly designed and seasoned words to minister Salvation, hope and healing, encouragement, deliverance and peace to that precious soul crying out to God in a pit of despair from somewhere on the other side of the globe! "

There are some of you that have shared your struggles with making your house a home.

Going about your day with so much chaos around you and trying to have a joy filled and content heart.

I cannot tell you the times as I go about my day making my house a home, God calls you to my mind.

I pray for you.

I ask God to bless you and strengthen you and make His face shine upon you.

sigh....

Oh He IS so good.

He takes His daughters from here:

Christian

And brings us here:

Christian

"I will shew forth all Your marvelous works"

Being glad and rejoicing in Him.

Singing praises to His Name.

While we go about making our house a home!!!

Blessings precious ones.

I'm glad you were able to get all of that done Ang! Looks great. And BTW ... doesn't that organic bin stink to high heaven? I would think it would smell up your kitchen each time you opened it. ??? Something like that would gag me for sure. Ha.

I pray you have a wonderful day!

Nothing like having a clean kitchen!!! Good for you!

I love the city gave you the organic bin... I wish our town would have some sorta recycling program. I have to organize it & drive it to a local recycle center... be REALLY nice if THEY came around.

Hey Angela!

Love this post, you and your blog!! And I popped over and viewed some of your YouTube videos.....blessed my socks off sister!! Your words and heart thoughts really encourage me!! (And I really needed it today!).

Your 3/11/2010 "It's time to be Guided" post is one of my fav's. Psalm 107:30 is one of my very fav verses and has very special meaning for me. The Holy Spirit quickened that scrip to me several years ago when I was in the midst of "a raging storm and could see no land in sight"! So, when I read your post, my heart leapt and I gave you bloggy hi-fives!! Whoo hoo! I've had those words "desired haven" stirring in my heart allot recently and meditating upon them, so when I read your post it encouraged me even more!! Glory!!

Loved your kitchen clean-up and stove scrubbing story/photos!! Uh, will you come to Arizona and help me with my kitchen....um, whole house!! LOL!

Seriously, so glad to have connected with you my Canadian sister!! You're a blessing!

Oh, and thanks for mentioning my post in your posting!

Luv, Hugs and Sweet Blessings!

Now I'm mad that I didn't participate this week. :P
But, I'm glad I took a break. Perhaps I'll clean my kitchen for next week... we'll see.

We have the organic bins too. Did your city give you the bigger one as well? We have a large one that stays outside and we dump our little ones contents into it.

I think that your stove turned out amazing. :)
I must say, I was so happy when we got one of the glass top stoves a couple of years ago. I find them MUCH easier to clean up. I don't miss cleaning those frigging burners at all.

Everything is shinning! It looks amazing Angie. :)
