EVERYTHING CHANGES

So for those of you that read BLESSINGS FROM AFAR know I mentioned about the mantel.

You also read that I probably would change it up.

Well a total of a few hours after writing that post, I did.

LOL

All the Christmas decorations have been put away.

A few stragglers have been found lying around.

Also a few decorations bought at 75% have to be added to the multitude of Christmas bins.

I started to clean the house.

I got 5 feet done out of 1500 square feet of home.

Not bad eh?

lol

When I lit all the candles the other day, it felt like an altar.

A little place of holiness.

It's been a rough ending for 2011 for many of us.

An even more rougher 2012 beginning.

I read this to my mother last night in the hospital room that is from Streams in the Desert:

"The type of prayer that empties us of faith frequently arises from focusing our thoughts on the difficulty rather than on God's promises. Abraham, 'without weakening in his faith....faced the fact that his body was as good as dead....Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God" (Romans 4:19-20)"

"Mom, his body as good as dead! Yet he did not waver."

I shared with her that I have been wavering for a few weeks.

"You will never learn faith in comfortable surroundings. God gives us His promises in a quiet hour, seals our covenant with great and gracious words, and then steps back, waiting to see how much we believe. He then allows the Tempter to come and the ensuing test seems to contradict all the He has spoken. This is when faith wins its crown. this is the time to look up through the storm, and among the trembling, frightened sailors declare, "I have faith in God that it will happen just as He told me. " Acts 27:25

Stay strong, Ang! Let God be strong in you 'cause when you are weak, then you are strong!

2 Corinthians 12:9 He said to me, “My grace is enough for you, because power is made perfect in weakness.” So I’ll gladly spend my time bragging about my weaknesses so that Christ’s power can rest on me. 10 Therefore, I’m all right with weaknesses, insults, disasters, harassments, and stressful situations for the sake of Christ, because when I’m weak, then I’m strong.

Love what you have done with that bit of space. You must have been very very busy putting away Christmas stuff--I saw your videos of your decorations!! My FIL whose stroke was May 2008 is doing quite well in an assisted living facility. He really enjoys it there and is very active although he is in a wheel chair. He moves it with one hand and his feet. He continues to get pt every so many months for about 6 weeks at a time and this helps him a lot! He interacts and ministers to so many people that his stroke has given him a wider range of ministry--its been amazing.
